Ok, it's no myth. You can fix a tiny hole of your engine with a package of bubble gum...it upholds the oil for least 30 kilometers, then you have to stop and wait while the engine is cooling down, so that the bubble gum is getting solid again... ;)
it's only a makeshift, a macgyver-solution, but if you are in the middle of nowhere and you have such problems maybe you can use this piece of advice ;)
